In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  1. The mentality of climate change deniers here in the comment section and beyond is unfreakingbelievable. These are the same people who genuinely believe that the Earth is flat and reptilians control the world. They can't get anymore retarded. Trying to convince them that they're wrong is equivalent to pulling a leftist snowflake out of her safe space and expect her to realize that the world doesn't revolve around her. They also suffer from cognitive dissonance so don't even bother arguing with them. They won't screw their own head in properly.

  2. so i believe that cc is real and is mostly caused by humans nowadays. but tell me what is so horrific about it that I should start living like someone in africa (no car, no plane travel, no nice home etc.) in order to stop climatr change.

  3. When more than 60% of americans believe that climate change is something of the divine, I won't even bother reading the comment section (lies, I've already over looked at it, simply because I'm trying to find out the name of the song played in the background).

  4. new world agenda you are an idiot. I have been to glacier NP and jasper NP you would not believe how much these glaciers are retreating and FAST that's a fact. besides climate change I guess you like pollution also because they are connected. you people are all neanderthals.

  5. Tell your Bullshit to the Corporations who treat our Planet like it's their personal Crapper. They shouldn't be too hard to find as they are the ones paying you to Brainwash the Average Joe into thinking "it's our fault" while they pump toxic sewage everywhere.
This asshole is not a scientist. Paid Shill who spreads disinformation that furthers the one world governance agenda.

Hell yeah, Bow tie Jerk Off, I'll be happy to pay those Carbon Taxes.
My fault because Fake Scientist Freemason Guy said so.

  6. I am genuinely surprised by the comment section here. Did not expect so many people not to believe in climate change…

  7. if we broke it down into phases it could be easier to understand. our planet is an enclosed system for the most part…the water we drink has been pissed out by dinosaurs millions of years ago. so if we break down an energy source that produces carbon dioxide or monoxide, that is hovering around until it can be converted to something less harmful, which takes time. yada yada yada. releasing harmful gases is hard to dispute. yada yada yada. climate change

  8. Fuck you Nye so full of yourself. 'the atmosphere is thin'. Its also 5 quintillion kgs. That means ever person owns a billion kgs. At sea level that's a billion cubic meters. Can one person and a car and a few other appliances influence a billion kgs of air more than the sun and space. Think about it. That's the reality. If we stuck a person on a one person planet that had a billion cubic meters of air their ain't no way in hell that adding an additional 50 thousand kgs of co2 is going to do jack fucken shit !!!!

  9. I like how he 'does science' by committing his entire life to educating a nation, has a degree and gets called a non-scientist so everyone's work and the science peer reviewed zeitgeist at large he credits is false. Conspiracy theorists and counter-claimers always make me wear my WTF face. They are, to a man, obviously flawed in everything they say and do. It's almost creepy… but fascinating! My mum has no degree at all yet worked as a scientist for decades and has published papers used as resources around the world. Apparently only having the credentials of an institution will do for the anti-authoritarian counter-culture… hey waiiiittt! laughter

  10. i am in total shock after coming to this video! what the FUCK is going on with all these deniers?!?! is it all these fucking american rebublicans who's at it again? Give me 3 scientific arguments for why he is lying! otherwise you can just fuck of and stop destroying my planet..

  11. Isn't it lovely how those that do not believe in global warming still decided to find the time to look up this video, dislike it and leave a rant in the comments, thus also increasing the view count which in turn makes this video easier to find?

  12. Wow, if he believes in climate change, then I believe in the tooth fairy. The minions of the globalist are in hordes to promote this fraud.

  13. Exsistence of "climeta deniers" is one big consipary.
    Climate deniesr doesn't exsist.
Dispute among scientst is about who is responsible for those changes.

  14. What kind of idiot, calls himself a scientist and presents data such as he has, in that ridiculous selective and biased fashion.
I am more convinced than ever now, Global Warming due to man made gasses is a scam.

  15. moronic people commenting in this forum..these climate change deniers will someday be like rudolph floating off on a disintegrating ice floe…completely at the mercy of an already spiraled out of control problem

  16. The cause of all these problems, and many more, is over population. Humans breed, and spread, like a virus.

  17. .7 of one degree in the last 140 years… Mmmmm. In the last 19 years, temperature has remained the same but the CO2 concentration has increased significantly. Mmmm. There was a time when there was no ice on the polar caps. (in one of the warming periods). This was before any man made burning of fossil fuel existed. Mmmm. But 97% of scientists agree you say… In 1978 TIME ran a cover that read: ""How to Prepare for the Coming Ice Age''. 99% of climate scientists agreed that we were entering a period of global cooling. Were they all right too? There was once a time that 2 miles of ice sat on top of Kansas. Now there s none. Of course the climate is changing; it always is… But if you believe that it is caused by man burning fossil fuels, don't bother applying to Caltech…

  18. The deniers are laughable. The have an old list of talking points from Exxon etc. and republish it ad nauseam. The old list has clearly been refuted and the new points collapse as fast as they’re raised. In the end I suspect their real objection is that climate change is going to require some real work from all of us and they really hate the word "work"

  19. He doesn't present BOTH sides of the argument for he leaves out actual graphs showing the 1930;s which was hotter than it was during the 1990s and even today. Truth is the temperature is decreasing.

  20. Everybody knows man made climate change is a reptilian invented hoax. They are manipulating the environment with chemtrails and HAARP…but nobody talks about that. And nobody talks about sun's activity having effect on our climate. Reptilians are surpressing better human made technology(see Nikola Tesla for example), but nobody talks about that either. Deep down you know this is the truth

  21. Whatever its real and i hope we can maintain it and im shure hes right and hopefully one day we can live without fossil fuels.

  22. Assertions masquerading as facts. Example: the ice sheet in Antarctica is generally growing not shrinking.

  23. Listen to interviews or lectures by Dr. David Evans or the talks by the late Prof. Bob Carter if you desire any sort of balanced diet of facts about climate. Even Dick Lindzen or John Christy will prove more listenable and credible than these low level green agents.

This was a wasted effort to propagandize a virgin and uninformed audience. TED has really slid past incredibility into the realms of liberalism and globalist agenda propaganda, and there is no sense of balance there anymore, at all. As bad as IQ2 is anymore, it is still preferable to these solipsistic catastrophe peddlers and climate fear monger.

You also should realize how the data is being manipulated, both statistically and graphically. Find Dr. Don Easterbrook's lecture(s) or congressional testimony, and the short overview of Global Warming Statistics from James Corbett on YT.

    Enjoy and Beware

  24. This data is four years old. Since this talk, the sea level rise has continued and the trend line continues to go up

  25. did anyone happen to notice the vertical axis of that first graph from 1970 to present on the horizontal axis.   Yes it goes from minus 4/10th (four tenths) of one degree Centigrade to plus 6/10th (six tenths)…so the whole vertical limb is ONE DEGREE !!  over   40 years….hmmm….yes, we are really cooking with gas !
