  1. 2:20:22 How can 2 trans molecules ever be meso? I thought meso compounds have to be cis so they can have symmetry. I think you said that meso compounds have to have all the chiral groups switched and they have to be symmetrical, right? If 2 cyclohexanes both have 2 stereocenters, such as trans-1,2-dibromocyclohexane (or another example could be trans-1,3-dimethylcyclohexane), wouldn't it be impossible for them to be the same compound because they don't have that plane of symmetry? Therefore cis-1,2-dibromocyclohexane would be the ones that are meso compounds, right?

  7. Can someone help me out or direct me to a good source that explains the orbital hybridization and sigma pi bond stuff? I always have trouble with those

    Like why does he write a p next to the H-C bond but then tells how there are two vertical orbitals representing the pi bond of C=C?

    And what relevance do hybridization and sigma pi bonding have?
