  1. The pipes on your property are just that – your property. It shouldn't be government's responsibility to replace your in-house pipes.

  2. The irony or stupidity, they are concern of getting poisoned yet they themselves have just poisoned themselves. The blind leading the blind and spreading false information. There is a federal regulation called Lead and Copper Rule which the EPA is supposed to enforce when fully staff and no hiring freeze has been in place like it is currently. The rule states the action level for lead is 0.015 mg/L. The action level for copper is 1.3 mg/L. The home owner might want to check with all the copper piping they just install it doesn't exceed 1.3 mg/L. Also scientists have claimed people should remove old copper pipes from their homes, or else install special filters, because the metal has been shown to build up in your body and cause serious health problems. Tiny traces of copper from pipes mix with tap water and are then consumed. Over a long period of time this leads to a build-up of copper in your body, which in turn leads to Alzheimer's disease, heart disease and diabetes because your body cannot process the metal. People over 50 should also avoid vitamin and mineral pills that contain cooper and iron. They should also donate blood regularly to reduce iron levels. Nomiki Konst think thing thru or edit your videos. You want the water utility board to replace the property owner home pipes. Do you know the funding plus the can of worms they would open if they did that? People would try to milk the sh** of it and say they want a completely remodel home because the patch work they did, doesn't match their existing tiles that are no longer manufactured or custom flooring.

  3. What a complete waste of time and money by nomiki . chicago NBC 5 broke the story weeks before and resolved the issue. You used someone else's investigative story! You speculate on what caused contamination when we know it was the car wash. If the city will or won't give you test results you should confirm results by getting your own test done! Chicago has some of the best water in the country and you chased a story. OMG home owners own the pipes in their own house?! Nobody wanted to talk to you because its resolved.

There are issues in Chicago that are exponentially greater concern: gun violence, sanctuary city fight with federal funding, education system, city budget, and gentrification to name a few.

You picked the story of least resistance. Please leave Chicago with your yellow journalism.

  4. Right next door to Chicago on the South East side is the Indiana American water company, a private company. This is likely a private company that owns the water and how it is provided and yet has no liability for the quality it delivers on a regular basis. Of course they can test when all the conditions are perfect and in locations where all the equipment has been serviced but likely they never do comprehensive quality tests and are exempt from any citizen recourse. Rahm is a horrible mayor as are many of the mayors in the Midwest who only look out for corporations and not for people.

  6. Forget the EPA doing anything about something like this for the next 4 years. Watching videos like this make me both sad and happy. Sad for the people who have fallen victim to his corporate greed, and happy that I'm not living in this hellhole of a country.

  7. You mean a Country that's been hell bent on perpetual war for over a decade isn't spending in Infrastructure? Doesn't care about its citizens? To make it worse, there will still be people in your Country who don't understand what's been happening to you for so long
