  4. Indeed. And who happens to manufacturer those "low emissions technologies"? That's right, "green" companies in the first world nations — companies that could never compete or even exist in the first place without massive taxpayer subsidies and guaranteed loans (with easy re-payment terms, if any at all). Two things we should all distrust – large corporations and big government. Woe to any society where big gov't is working hand-in-glove with big corporations to pillage hard-working taxpayers.

  5. One of the first rules of business: "Be First, Be Smarter, or Cheat."
Second Rule of Business: "Keep yourself State of The Art by making others Obsolete."

Companies in first world countries know that a business in a 3rd world country doesn't have much money and therefore, will be most likely to produce more pollution. But companies in a 3rd world can agree to have low emissions technology installed for the temporary low cost of workers' wages.

  8. (at)johnTconover and in case you missed it — there is absolutely NO comparison between "free markets" and markets controlled by "cap & trade". I'm so glad the US politicians listened to their constituents on this, and killed cap & trade here. But we need to keep fighting it for the sake of our children & the lives of everyone who does not yet enjoy a high standard of living.

  9. (at)johnTconover see my post of a few seconds ago… this scheme is pure genius in the sense that it has fooled more than half of the representatives to the U.N. from the world's poorest nations. They don't see how this scheme is not just immoral — it is spawned by pure evil. How is it "equitable" for poor nations to pay wealthy nations for the "right" to grow beyond their current levels of emission? Like Al Gore, you must be incapable of thinking this thru…don't feel bad, neither was my sister.

  10. The scheme allows inefficient, bloated corporation executives to cut their operations, lay off their employees, and still put BILLIONS into their pockets. The net result of cap & trade is to destroy industry, kill national economies of those countries foolish enough to drink the Kool-Aide, and the scheme will lead directly to WWIII, as small nations seeking to grow industry would be "shut out" by the need to pay wealthy nations, and small companies would need to pay big corporate execs.
