Electric Cars Are a Hit With Chinese Consumers

China is the world’s largest market for electric vehicles, thanks largely to subsidies that drive costs down. Those incentives will end by 2020, but the government is betting that won’t be the end of the road for its electric dream. Photo/Video: Eva Tam/The Wall Street Journal

  1. America has electric cars too but quite expensive, and they don't go that far on a single charge. The cost is a declining factor, plus they aren't very powerful, and the charge is overnight not very appealing to me.

  2. China is the biggest electric car market . BUT if you count all the OTHER electric vehicles that sell there , like scooters and small 3 and 4 wheelers , there are many MILLIONS of those that sell every year . I myself have 3 such small vehicles . An electric scooter retails at about $300 to $400 . And most households have one or two . No problems with charging stations , they plug into the normal household power .

  4. Meritocracy, technocracy mixed with totalitarianism and authoritarianism.

    That's how you advance rapidly.

I'm not saying it can't go wrong, but with 1.5 billion+ citizens, I doubt the CCP dare to do too much wrong.

  5. Electrical car and coal are two different businesses. What matters is not where those electricity come from, what matters is electrical car will push energy industry to change, coal is the only one source of electricity, when coal wasn't the best option for producing electricity and electricity become the most used energy, that 'invisible hand' will make this world better ,just think about it economically.
