  1. Scottie, you are my go-to guy for repairs! However, you struck out here. So many pluses for the hybrid. Forget climate change, but remember young Americans dying on foreign soil. OPEC would have been broke years ago with hybrid technology. We believe everything we're told, to a fault. The issue is that no Americans took up the challenge for repair and service. Could have been a booming industry. Geeks could have hacked the ecus, just like we did with carburetors. I just laugh when I fill up. 50 mpg, 60 in town. $4,000 investment. Nah. there's a car for every purpose. Keep 'em coming!

  3. Yup raises a real good question. Do you want to buy a car in which everything is so integrated that you cannot replace a part yourself. There is no reason this kind of car should be integrated. electrics are simple. Like 3 moving parts, no transmission. And the Hybrid is just small motor either charging or engaging when needed. There is a reason they are integrating this stuff. To get you to have to take the whole thing into the shop and replace the whole engine.

  5. Lots of repairs on a hybrid cost way more than a non-hybrid. It's debatable whether or not you actually save any money at all buying one. The money saved on gas gets spent on the more costly repairs. Also, less people know how to fix a hybrid. It's tougher to find a good mechanic who knows what they are doing with one and then you pay more once you find one.

  10. the only reason why I lost interest in a hybrid car is because yes i understand the battery packs can wear out and I hear that can cost over thousands of dollars to replace

    Making the hybrid a FAILBRID

so yes I'm better off buying another vehicle that isn't a hybrid

  11. Who's buys a 9 year old hybrid car??? Some Prius hating redneck that's going to use it in a demolition show. So, these cars have value even after they are long dead.

  12. I am a delivery drive I work at China Sun Bristol VA I drive a lot so in order to save gas money, i bought a new 2007 toyota prius in 2006 and put about 250,000 never get any repair beside change tires few time and change brake pad one time prius is the most reliable car i had ever. finally, in 2012 my wife got a car accident, so instead take it to body shop I sold it cheap to a friend of mine, and then i bought a toyota camry hybrid xle and I put about 107000 (we got another driver so I don't drive as much as before) I had never repair since new beside change tires best reliable car and super low cost to keep the car save a lot money for gas I always change oil on time(don't go walmart to get oil change, they don't do the right job)I take to toyota of bristol to do oil change only cost about 50 dollars for every 10,000 miles I just want to tell truth the toyota hybrid did excellent job I don't have to spend any time or money to repair cars, they are trouble free car when I got the hyundai XG350L in 2004 that car keep me busy I go to repair shop quite often for all kinds of problem and the gas mileage are bad they say 18 city 26 highway average 21 but I only got average of 18 and in 2004 the gas price are crazy high the 87 gas cost 3.75 a gallan that's why I sold my XG350 and bought prius in 2006 so you are wrong the toyota hybrid are excellent

  13. I did that to someone last semester to find the alternator. He was the Mr. Know It All guy so one day I pretended that I needed his help to find and replace the alternator. He looked for it for and hour, even tried to look it up on All Data. I could tell that he has never worked on a Prius. 😆
