As the Paris Climate Summit occurs on a world stage, 150 world leaders have gathered to ramp up the hysteria around climate change. Prince Charles warned that “we are becoming the architects of our own destruction” demanding immediate action – in the form of increased government power – to halt global warming. Stefan Molyneux and Alex Epstein (author of The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels) discuss the propaganda around global warming and aim to separate the facts from fiction.

Alex Epstein is the President and Founder of the Center for Industrial Progress, the author of The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels and an expert on energy and industrial policy. Center for Industrial Progress is a for-profit think-tank seeking to bring about a new industrial revolution. For more from Alex and CIP, please check out: industrialprogress.com and alexepstein.com

  1. I need to state this;
Temperatures have plateaued for almost two decades. Your back and forth in comments is literally conjecture concerning fiction.

  2. I like the idea of coercive monopoly. Kinda like the human race destroying the natural resources on this planet without any other species to stop us 😉

  3. Here's my theory.. and keep in mind I said theory, like idea.. like probably bullshit and outlandish lol.. but here.. I think it is possible however unlikely it maybe that global warming is not caused by humans.. that our world may go through natural cycles of hotter summers and colder winters.. until it's an ice age, and then a ground burning heat wave. The planet's seasons are amplified. Slowly going through it's cycles getting more extreme every year and then will reach a peak. After the peak it will slowly return to less extreme little by little until it returns to temperatures which are more temperate and can produce life. Duh. That's why dinosaurs went extinct. and then came humans.. who knows what's after us, or what was before dinosaurs.

  4. Exactly what I believe, and lack your intelligence in articulating the information to effectively make a good argument, Thank you Alex and Stefan.

  6. There's no reason to burn coal if we can make electricity and heat by other means. Coal pollution is a major health hazard, in the US and elsewhere.
    You could have mentioned that.
Yes we need access to cheap energy. And not only us, everyone on the planet needs it. It is the basis for a good life, good health, education, communication-
But it shouldn't be made from coal.
Go for advanced nuclear energy – probably the best solution for the next 50 years or so.
At some point solar energy will have to be the main source,
The only reason to continue burning fossils even when we have access to cleaner energy would be to consciously rise the CO2 levels in the athmosphere. That may make sense in the long run, to postpone the next ice age as long as we can.

  7. The average temperature for most of earth's existence was 22 C and we are at a chilly 14C or 8 degrees colder. If CO2 LAGS, then how can it be a cause??? Stephen, how is it logical to have CO2 an effect when it LAGS? You can calculate the temperature to within 1 C by including air and ground as a system together so why is there a need for "greenhouse" when it can be calculated without this so called effect….that is a not a cause.

  8. Do some research on alex and find his ties to the Koch Bros and other pro-fossil fuel groups, he is muddying the waters the same way the pro-tobacco guys did.

  9. Caused by CO2 – "Global Warming"?? – Why promote the Rothschild scary deception?
To maximize cooling – CO2 and H2O interact. All gases warm and are greenhouse gases.

Alex Epstein and Stefan Molyneux need to think more.

  10. The word "logarithmic"… That was the most important point in this entire video. Should've hammered on that more, this is really important information to any scientifically literate person.

  11. "Nothing remotely consequential enough to justify restricting hydrocarbons"

So the collapse of the food web is an issue of no consequence?

  12. We just had two asteroids pass between the moon and earth in the past 3 weeks. One of them was about the size of a small house. The asteroid that most recently passed by was just spotted 5 days before it passed, for the first time. This should be our biggest concern. Why don't people get that?

  13. I like when it takes "science" 50+ years to conclude what many lay-people knew 50 years ago or more.  It's kind of fun to watch.  And the waste of time is so immense, it makes me giggle.
