  1. PRECISELY! The reason geothermal energy is so little explored in the US (or anywhere else in the world) is money – there is little or no profit in it.  Until the people stop simply trusting out governments to lookout for our well-being (which they're not because $$ get in the way) and start actively demanding (through peaceful protest and focused purchasing power) pro-Humanity/ecologically friendly power we'll stay on the same track we're on.
