  1. With Solar there are Conversion Losses when you convert from AC to DC power. Your Computer and TV do this, and lose useful power. If the President orders it, Manufacturers will make computers/TVs have a DC Power option. You can run your computer off the Solar Panels on your roof.

  2. Nuk Power – Spent Fuel Rods still Boil Water! They can STILL BE USED! We are getting ripped off!
Solar suffers from 2 problems: Transmission Losses, and Conversion Losses. You save on Transmission Losses when the power comes from Panels on your roof.
With Conversion Losses you are changing from AC power to DC, and lose power in the process! Your TV and Computer love DC! But they have to use AC. If the President orders it – manufacturers will make TVs and Computers that can take DC Power – (from the Solar panels on your roof!) Utility Co. and Manufacturers won't like this.

  3. +DNews Plus Why do you think that 0.5% efficiency of Uranium is acceptable? That means that 99.5% of the energy potential is wasted. Thorium is c.200 x more efficient.

  4. +DNews Plus You should look up Thorium Salt Nuclear Power. It is cheap, safe, clean nuclear power. The only question is why are we not using it??

  5. Initially geothermal may be expensive but 2nd, 3rd 4th generation geothermal would blow every other source away.. 90%+ of the cost would only be required for the initial plant, if all our energy infrastructure built 100yr ago was geothermal we would probably be paying 1/10 our current power bills.

  6. the problem with nuclear energy is post people don't understand how it works of the effect it has on our way of life. Even if your energy don't come from nuclear almost all aspect of modern civilization is affected by it , everything from the milk you drink to the paper you wipe you ass with. nuclear energy is very safe, but media companies need to sell the product so the smallest mishap is over played like its going to be the end of the world. then is gobbled up the under educated and misinformed, then amplified. If we ( humanity ) switch to nuclear power 50 years ago, we would not have global warning right now. and that's a fact nor would we have the level of terrorism which is funded by oil money

  7. We need to focus on other sources and improving other sources green energy geothermal solar technology space solar technology wind title heat differential xcetera those are the primary energy sources that we should focus on any energy source that has the potential to cause widespread damage to environment and life should not be used. Those people in those neighboring communities everything a prophet so of course they're going to look at it favorably people these days seem to see only dollar signs and not the environmental impact

  8. Or the fact that if there's a major disaster anyone's capable of maintaining the nuclear reactor it will eventually melt down causing widespread radiation leaks making the surrounding areas on habitable for thousands of years
