Earth System Science 1: Introduction to Earth System Science

Dramatic falls into bottomless pits are largely the stuff of fantasy, but here’s a thought experiment: How long would it take you to fall through the Earth if a tunnel went from one side to the other?

  1. invalid question. it is not possible if you knew structure of Earth. there is no technology in universe to be able to create a hole through Earth.and I know a few of them. however it is possible by current crazy models which are fiction presented as fact. MG1

  2. I got wondering after thinking about the air resistance slowing you down to prevent you from getting past 60% or what ever through the hole,
Would thousands of miles of atmosphere be dense enough to be a liquid, (despite the heat)
Either way. I'm sure it will slow to down to 200mph, or what ever the terminal velocity if that density is.

  3. Would the other side pull you to its surface and then you'll be like wtf just happened and I confused everyone

  4. How I ended up here after watching a video about putting together the WWE experience I'll never know. Cool concept anyway though.

  5. I'd end up in the SouthWestern Indian Ocean 856.42 km and 273.78 deg (NW) from French Southern & Antarctic Lands (49 12 15.85 S 68 45 10.02 E). Guess where I am! (I'm NOT in Great Britain)

  6. a gyroscope give a good explanation about how the gravity is built (by spinning the core the all planet is spinning (a fall through the earth doesn't make sense ,because the surface of the earth can be in a middle of the earth too (just a core),so ,than where are you falling (that's why you can't fall through the earth) the core is spinning to fast to get there ,the plasma temperature keep the core inside ,a whole through the earth to the core will blow the all planet ,because the core will escape and the cool down process it will be very fast that get another explosion 🌏 🌏 πŸ•” πŸ’ŽπŸ’€β˜ β˜Όβ˜Ύβ˜„ β‚ͺitibiraβ‚ͺ ✢β˜₯βŠ€β‹‰β–²β–΄β— βœ¨πŸŒ›πŸŒ„
