Thanks to its hybrid knowledge, Toyota created the first fuel cell production car. It is a vehicle driven by an electric motor powered by the electricity generated by the chemical reaction between onboard hydrogen and airborne oxygen.

  6. How does that work in the winter conditions? How does it prevent the fuel cell from damaging if you leave the car outside in freezing conditions (<20F/-10C)? How long does it takes to heat the fuel cell system above freezing level after a night like that?

  8. Seeing as non-degenerating batteries were just invented and Tesla came out with a way you can hot-swap batteries, it doesn't make sense to go this route given the dangers of hydrogen fuel tanks. Still a cool concept, and I'm sure there will still be a use.

  9. energy in fuel cells is weak ans limited. it's not capable to runnig a large compressors. it also featurs a titaniun metal expensive. no substitue for higer diesel engin effeciency

  11. These car companies are in cahoots with fossil fuel companies. Electric plugins are the way to go because we all can generate our own electricity by using solar panels at home.

    Fuel Cell technology is a CENTRALIZED ENERGY NETWORK which is what the corporations want. They don't want you do be able to make your own energy at home and force you to buy it from them.

    Don't buy Fuel Cell technology cars. Stick with hybrid or if you can afford it, plugin hybrids.

  12. Fuel cells are a waste. This is an attempt of the giant oil industry, trying to place another fuel that they can continue to control and make money from instead of Batteries which are the best of what the future holds. Hydrogen is the most combustible gas known to man. It takes an entire new infrastructure of filling station, MANUFACTURING STATIONS, yes it has to be made, distribution centers… and gets less MPG and range than even gasoline cars, and you can't just charge at home like you can with electric… Shell Oil has invested a lot in Hydrogen.

    hydrgen+ozygen=elctricity(forget water vapor). electricity powers car at that moment or gets stored away depending on load size. yes?
