Mono vs Poly vs Flexible Solar Panel + Series vs Parallel Wiring

When it comes to choosing a solar panel that will work best for your needs, there are lots of variables that you need to consider: monocrystalline vs polycrystalline, hard panels vs flexible panels, wiring the solar panels in series vs parallel or a combination of the two. This video will help bring clarity to these decisions you will need to make.

  1. I disagree with the efficiency between the flex and mono rigid panels, you will find that they are often using the same cells (in high quality panels) so theres really no difference in efficiency.

  2. Thank you . I've been doing this myself. And that was the best I have ever seen describing it all and now I totally get it. And you ain't kidding about confusing. I've tried reading it from a book and well forget it . So I've been learning by experimentation. That can be a bad expensive mistake. Got a question with my most recent array instead of running the panels through each other I ran it to 2 copper rails . These panels are mix matched in power output it seems to be working properly. Or am I screwing somthing up and just don't know it yet ? Thanks for all the info

  3. So wiring in series leads to more amps, but in parallel, there is more voltage. Which wiring creates a more powerful system? If the voltage is the pressure that allows the amps to flow, that means that both systems are about equally powerful? Great videos by the way. Very easy to understand.

  5. No we're does he or anyone else explain when charging begins in the morning and when it ends at night. If a 22 volt panel produced 2 volts in low light and was connected in series with 7 panels it would start charging the batteries sooner and later respectively

  7. Well, maybe it is a compliment to your presentation but to me, this is very simplistic mathematically and electronically. I am not sure why you say that it is confusing. I find it is so simple an elementary school child could do this. Thanks for the information on the difference between the types (Rigid/Flexible) panels. Great information on the comparison between warranty and ruggedness of the panels. Have a great day!

  9. I have been in the renewable energy field for some time now and have used many products for instructional purposes, but this [link here >>>t.co/2gsWzGL1BF ] is the best. It has all the material needed to get people here in the IBEW up and running for the installation and design of solar systems
