Steve Porcaro Story Behind Human Nature by Michael Jackson

Human Nature composer and original TOTO keyboard player Steve Porcaro reveals how he wrote the 1982 Michael Jackson hit ballad and how producer Quincy Jones included his song in Thriller, the best selling album of all time. Steve Porcaro also played synthesizer on Thriller track The Girl Is Mine, the duet with Micheal Jackson and Paul McCartney.

  3. You think about the insane talent within Toto, all hit writers, great players, session careers….now think about the insane lack of talent within Little Mix or One Direction…..

  4. I always asked myself the meaning of human nature's lyrics and I never thought that the first idea was a story of love/hate between little kids. Good explaining, I believe…maybe it is the reason because we hurt other people as we love them, because it is just human nature. However, there are other parts from the song whose meaning were weird, well, but maybe it has no explanation, there are simples consequences from inspiration.

  8. This song added that touch of magic and science fiction to Thiller. The song is very creative cause the rythm has those brakes and is not the standard 4/4 or 2/4 and all those keyboard layers create an atmosphere of mistery. Then Michael vocals take the song one step further to heaven.Thriller had the dance techno with Wanna be starting something, the funky tune with Thriller the Rock with beat it the soulful ballad The lady in my Life and the MJ signaure track Billie Jean. This was the icing in the cake. After all those powerful fast tempo tracks Human Nature felt like a breeze of fresh air.You envision yourself walking in a lonely quiet street…very introspective. Magical song

  9. Michael Jackson did not write OR produce this track. SO HOW ABOTU YOU GIVE CREDIT TO THE WRITERS AND NOT JUST MOTHERFUCKING MICHAEL??? -_- John Bettis wrote the song.

  10. Respect and infinite applaud to the creator but I have to say: No one in the world could have executed this song and performance any way near MJJ-777 – same story with Man in Mirror … he took the incredible and gave it the sparkling magic crystal touch
