Just what I needed for my pupils.
Hi
Super Thank you soo much
good
This simplistic explanation of the GHE does not withstand scrutiny. The heat absorption at lower levels of the atmosphere is effectively saturated with regard to CO2. A better explanation is that a small amount of IR radiation at relevant frequencies makes it to higher levels of the atmosphere, and some gets absorbed and re-emitted there. This warms the higher levels and impeding, if only slightly, the ultimate escape of this radiation into space by forcing it to occur at higher and higher levels of the atmosphere as more CO2 or methane is added. Whether this is anything to worry about is certainly not a settled issue, IMHO.
you have very nice voice
wow yes very very good yes good very yes good good yes video yes good video
noooobs
this is a great vid! thx. It helped with my chemistry hwk.
What happened to the most important greenhouse gas that represents 90%+ of greenhouse gases – water vapour! This is alarmist rubbish. Peter Griffiths
people saying that this is part of the earth's natural cycle and it is supposed to fluctuate are wrong. it is supposed to do this to some degree but if you look at the data it is not nearly supposed to be this bad. look at the levels after the industrial revolution in the 18th century that's when it got this bad. its man made problems
what the fuck are gaasses ??
very helpful
I am legally entitled to shoot Britiots who pronounce GLA-ciers (gla-shers, long a sound) as GLASS-e-ers, as if the word has 3 freakin' syllables. Also, that "ME-thane" with a long e sound crap has got to go. As well "maths", when the word is math.
Of course, I was already entitled to shoot Britiots for worshipping a stupid Queen.
does the earths axis, rotation and distance in relation to the sun have an impact on GHE, and ice age probability ect
I am not going to watch this for entertainment, only for school. But notice, you said the sun is the ONLY natural source of heat on the earth. Keep in mind that the core and mantle of the earth are too hot to survive. We get heat from the ground all the time, so even if it's not something as evident as the sun, it certainly is there. Please don't lie…
cunt
so unhelpful, I'm sorry but rly it just takes like an hour to get down to the point of what green house gasses are, plus the music is very distracting, I watched this video 3 times to finally not get distracted by the music. very unhelpful.
the day after tommorow water levels are more like 50 – 100m .. not 5 like the documentary says
The earth will be fine. It's been through much worse. We, on the other hand, won't be. This is nature's way to keep this planet in balance. Like with every species, if the area they inhabit is getting overpopulated, and there's little to no natural predators, in time, they simply go extinct. Naturally, no one really thinks about the future. It's always "right here, right now" thinking, so by definition we (and like every other species ever lived on this planet) are doomed. The difference is, we're going to make it rather quickly and take quite a big of chunk of the earth with us.
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but surely acid rain will naturally decrease atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. This rain will result in weathering, releasing ions from silicate rock, which will then flow into the oceans, where they will chemically react to form carbonates used by marine life for shells and such. After this marine life dies the carbonates will be stored in sedimentary rock, no?
Hi class… 😀
